Our Christian youth activities at River Oaks is very important to us because we want to spread the word starting with the children at a young age. “You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.'”

2 Chronicles 20:17 New International Version

God and his son Jesus are here to free us from fears of this world. Our fathers promise is all we need to know that we who believe in his Son, Jesus Christ, and ask for salvation will be saved and free from the shackles of sin and death.

As we walk the path of a disciple, we are bound to face battles and tribulations. It is human nature to worry and fear the trials ahead. We worry about what should we do, how we should do it and when. God tells us in the above verse, that what is important is that we take position and stand firm in our faith that we will be delivered.

When even a little doubt enters our heart, we start to see negative outcomes. These thoughts lead to loss of confidence in both ourselves and God. God wants us to be free from such torture and pain. He doesn’t want us to ever let fear stop us from doing his will.

We can prevent this from happening by studying the word and understanding God’s promises and perfect unconditional love. He has shown time and time again that he will provide for his people. If we start educating the children about Him, the children will start to get more involved within the church.

Sometimes the enemy uses impatience to try and show that God is not with us, but have faith and patience and you will come to see that he is always with us. He is with us as we take our positions and stand our ground.

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. At River Oaks, we want the children to know that no one is perfect, but everyone is loved by Him.

1 John 4:18 New International Version

Fear is natural and there is nothing to be ashamed for feeling its tendrils attempt to grip our heart. What we as Christians do on a daily basis is to trust in God so we do not let fear control us.

As we go through each day we can never truly receive our heavenly father’s gifts if we don’t build a strong faith or let fear control our actions.

Bring your children this holiday season to River Oaks Christian Church in Jenks to fear no more, and to be welcomed! Connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to learn more about our children ministries and service times.
